its because of my new found source and my return to gaming, the recent (and most probably the next coming weeks ahead) that my sleeping schedule is certainly effed up. the recent weekend was the ice breaker.
after much brain scrambling and internet research, i finally cracked and crumbled down the invisible gaming wall that has stumped me time and time again on gaining and broadening my passion of gaming. i know its such a waste but sometimes bad is just soooooo good! hahaha! its like junk food that you love to hate and still eat it regardless of its disadvantages.
on the previous post i ranted about the region locked barriers of gaming in the world. i began to understand a bit on why it was so due to the PAL and NTSC settings in each country. but with HD on the rise and 3D to follow soon, i think game developers should rethink on publishing and market their games. just a friendly thought from an average gamer comme moi...
now with a little brain like mine compiled with all the mistakes and passes, i finally managed to get my virtual hands on the old school games that inused to play as a kid. i will forever cherish that time as i earned every penny and got me my first Playstation which sadly, i sold in the end and regret it to this day. i know its still sold somewhere around the world but come to think about it, i got more than enough game consoles to keep my guilt at bay.
with Xenogears and Final Fantasy VII downloaded to my PS3 and my PSP, my gaming life has started all over again. it took me a while to get used to it after years of not playing it. i keep feeling that i have this sordid smile on my face every time i log in and play. God it feels so good. it feels so good, i barely had anything to eat and sleep. one of the downfalls of replaying my games. my weekends are going to change a whole lot. cooped up at home for 3 nights and 2 days... not that i care much about the outside world anyway.
to those who has the same problems of this friggin region blocked games, its fairly easy once you know what you have to do. just create a brand new profile. all i really needed was a US address so that i would be able to purchase US games.
now there are a couple of ways. the sure fire ways are 'borrowing' addresses. if you have family there, that would be awesome, just ask their permission (be respectful and responsible, as always).
theres also renting an address, this i found out by registering to www.myus.com website. a couple of colleagues have been and still are using the site as a means of purchasing items in the US that normally can't be found or sent to the EU or any part of the world (you can reconfirm by checking the list of countries that they are able to send to), basically its a company that acts as your helper to forward stuff wherever you are.
there are a few subscriptions you can choose but i would recommend the mid choice of paying US$60 per year if you don't buy stuff from the US that much. it basically lends you an address to forward the stuff to (i think its their warehouse) when you purchase items online. they would receive it and keep it for you till you set a date for them to send it to you. with that address too, you could register a US Playstation Network (PSN) identification for your own personal use. the only downside is that they require a US PSN prepaid card or a US credit card... no details yet on when they will use PayPal... damn it.
another way is to purchase PSN cards through Amazon or Ebay but the sending fees are just redonkilous... unless you don't mind, then go ahead. but still you need a US address for the PSN card to work. bummer? i know. i had 3 weeks of bummers. my brain leaked outta my ears because of it... urgh.
what i did was a white lie. fake address but legal payments. so far a good number of gamers have used the same technique and even recommends it. i have an address that exists but isn't point exactly where i am. confusing? yes. but once you do it yourself, you will know what i mean.
after that has been sorted out, it was about purchasing the PSN card online. luckily, theres this digital redeem code purcahse where after you pay, they will send you a virtual card scratch to reveal the redeem codes to be entered on your console. my website of choice is www.pcgamesupply.com as they not only provide PSN cards, theres also,a vast choice of other cards such as Xbox Live Points, MMORPG game point and a whole lot more.
